Sony Bravia XBR LX900 Series 3D TV

Image of Sony Bravia 3D Ready HDTVThe Sony XBR LX900 series is Sony’s flagship line of LCD 3D TVs. These 3D capable televisions feature edge-lit LED backlighting technology, similar to Samsung’s LCD 3D TVs. The LX900 series has many fancy features including a futuristic sensor technology that automatically detects when viewers step away from the television so that it can dim the display and save power. These 3D TVs feature a 1080p flat panel that incorporates Sony’s Motionflow PRO 240Hz technology for enhancing screen response times, and minimizing ghosting and motion-blur issues by interpolating the input video signal. Additionally, the Bravia Engine 3 video processor helps reduce noise, enhance detail and optimize contrast for a vibrant, lifelike image.

Sony Bravia XBR HX900 Series 3D TV

The Sony XBR HX900 series is Sony’s mid-range line of LCD 3D TVs. Unlike the LX900 series, the HX900 3D TVs feature a conventional LED backlight as opposed to an edge-lit backlight. While this makes the HX900 3D TVs thicker than their edge-lit counterparts, the HX900 flat panels feature local LED backlight dimming for enhanced black levels and picture quality. Like Sony’s LX900 series, these 3D ready TVs feature a full 1080p flat screen that incorporates Sony’s Motionflow PRO 240Hz technology for enhancing screen response times, and minimizing ghosting and motion-blur issues by interpolating the input video signal. The Bravia Engine 3 video processor helps enhance picture quality and produce vibrant, lifelike images.

Sony Bravia KDL HX800 Series 3D TV

The Sony Bravia KDL HX800 LED 3D TV series is the entry level 3D ready TV being offered by Sony. This is an edge lit LED 3D TV with similar features to the HX900 series. The primary difference between the KDL HX800 series and the XBR HX900 is the lack of integrated WiFi support as well as the change to an edge-lit backlight. This means that the HX900 series will have superior black levels and dynamic range due to its ability to locally dim the flatpanel backlight. On the whole though, this is a great entry level range of 3D compatible LCD televisions with all the important features that you would want such as 240Hz Motionflow PRO technology, a full 1080p display and the Bravia Engine 3 video processor for improved picture quality.
