Samsung to Launch the Ultra-thin 9000 Series 3D TV in 2010
As has been a common trend at CES this year, Samsung is also jumping on the 3D bandwagon with the announcement of their 9000 series, 3D enabled LED backlit LCD TVs. The 9000 series comes with a built-in 3D processing unit and like most high-end 3D enabled TVs, boasts true 1080p playback at 240 Hz, is WiFi ready and capable of streaming Netflix amongst a host of other internet apps available at the Samsung store. It also has the ability to use it’s processing unit to upconvert regular 2D programming into 3D.
However, what really makes the 9000 Series TV stand out, is it’s ultra-thin form factor coupled with it’s drop dead gorgeous design. The TV is as thin as a pencil (and that’s no exaggeration!) and has a sexy brushed metal look. Even more impressive is the full color touchscreen remote that is bundled along with the TV (pictured below). While one might be quick to dismiss this as just an expensive gimmick, this isn’t the case because the remote has some really neat features, chief amongst them being the ability to watch a separate TV channel stream on your remote while your significant other/buddy watches something else on the TV.
